Chapter Twenty-Two

Kissing Elizabeth was the only thing that had been on my mind since the moment I laid eyes on her. From the second I picked her up, her long blonde hair cascading down her back, her face glowing and her body covered perfectly in that dress, all I’d imagined was the kiss we’d share when I told her goodnight. But after our dinner conversation, the vibe I had gotten from her about opening up, I knew it was too soon.

The entire ride home, I’d been watching her from the corner of my eye and I’d seen her fidgeting in her seat. She’d been nervous. I wasn’t entirely sure what she was nervous about, but I wanted another date with her even more than I wanted a kiss. I wanted another chance to get to know her better and hopefully start a relationship with her. If I could do that, I knew I’d get a kiss, eventually. I was a patient man. I had no problem waiting until the time was right. Tonight wouldn’t be it.

However, I couldn't resist getting my lips on her, even if it was only on the cheek. Just thinking about it now had me adjusting myself in my pants as I hurried home so I could take a much needed cold shower. That seemed to be the norm for me lately, ever since I’d met Elizabeth. Seeing her or talking to her, getting hard as hell and resorting to jacking off in the shower to images of her being there with me. Looked like tonight would be no different.

What was worse was that I actually didn't mind. God forbid fucking Martinez found out about this shit though. He’d never let me live it down. We were tight like brothers, which meant he busted my balls just like one too. Thinking of him had me remembering the gym and how I’d convinced Ronald to let me cut out on my daily workout early. I groaned. Tomorrow, I’d be paying for it but Elizabeth was worth every extra mile I had to run and every extra weight I had to lift. I shook my head and groaned again at the thoughts Elizabeth conjured up in my mind. I was fuckin whipped good and I hadn't even had a taste. Martinez was going to whoop my ass when he found out. And I had no doubt that eventually he’d find out.

What I hadn’t expected was him finding out so soon. The next morning I showed up to the gym an hour early, hoping to win some points with Ronald. No such luck. He worked me like he used to when I was a punk kid still getting into trouble.

Sweaty and sore, I finally had to ask what I’d done. “Man, Ronald. What the hell did I ever do to you?” Wiping my brow, I took a much needed deep breath as I waited for an answer.
